My son's love of poker.
If you look close enough you can see, spades, clubs, hearts and diamonds, wearing headphones.
When I asked him where the idea came from, he put his hands next to his head and said "Poof!"

The older they get, the more against the poor they become!

A few days ago at work I stumbled upon a conversation involving food stamps, how wrong it was and so on. I did not want to get involved being that I was sick, very tired, and very sore. The accepted wisdom was that there are plenty of jobs out there and people turn away from minimum wage jobs as being beneath them. Jobs such as street sweepers came up and the like.

I said I would have to check on the internet to see where all these jobs where that were being bandied about. They quickly said that there no such jobs, they would have to be created and paid for and people would be up in arms about jobs being tied to food stamps.
I did ask those present who would volunteer for the minimum wage job, being that there are so many to choose from. No volunteers.

A person who gets food stamps is living on about 3 dollars a day.

That is luxury, three bowls of Ramen noodle a day.

I can see where they are coming with their complaints.

A thought had occurred to me, more than once that some people, the older they get, blame others on their current conditions. Like storming Frankenstein's castle with pitchforks and torches, emotions can be gathered as a striking force against the weaker ones.

Instead of being against everything, make job training part of the requirement but make sure a job is there when the training is done.

Talk is certainly cheap, worthy ideas are priceless.

People who are superstitious about Friday the 13th usually don't know why or that it involves the slaughter of most of the Knights Templar, go on, look it up.

Advertising is one of the necessities of modern living. It tells you a lot about what is out there, unfortunately it doesn't give you the necessary information to make an informed decision.

Planned obsolescence is necessary to keep factories going. Products could be made to last longer, but why?

People who think that they know it all are just pretending, fearful of others knowing more then they do.

Someone who asks you "so what do you think?" are just being polite. They will pretend to listen but have already moved on.

We have little if any skills to survive on our own. Most of us would not make it.

The most powerful creature on the planet is a mother protecting her children.

We would be surprised on what others think of us. A good thing mind reading does not happen.

A man's thought process as he observes a woman walking by would make the speed of light seem slow.

Because of Netflix, I have become a documentary junkie. Learning is not boring.

I find it wonderful to meet people from around the world. I don't judge a woman by country, race, religion, just if she is cute!

A sincere compliment is the most valuable thing one can give another, and yet it is free.

I have been weaning myself from watching sports on cable because of the exorbitant cost involved in viewing. It has been easier then I thought.

When you watch someone on TV or in a movie or playing sports, you are watching someone do what they like to do. Could they say the same of you?

Wouldn't it be cool if we had a theme song while we drove around or while we were at work? What would yours be?
