Like a death march our store continues to lose people. Some should have been gone along time ago and will be not be missed. Some are leaving of their own accord, some have been let go, and some are waiting to be let go.
I am in the last group. Sales are down. It must not be the corporation's decisions, management directives, or the other big box who is cleaning our clock.
Nope, it is you and me. We are the cause.
Do more with less. Cross over to other departments where we have no idea what we are doing. Limit our time to keep the store clean and neat and well stocked and cut back on the manpower we need to get the job done.
Raise the bar on what needs to be done until we can not do it and then fire us for not doing it.
They will remake the store in their own image. Cheaper, slower, weaker.
and fail once again.
stay tuned

Clever title - sad situation...
That's sadly the way management in a lot of indusry has become - it's about the bottom line and certainly isn't about customer service.
Good luck...*hugs*

Management is constantly looking for their bonus.
Everyone else is trying to do the best we can. No one is safe.
