It can always be worse where you are

This is nothing like a direct hit from a hurricane but it is bad enough. Our back yard is on an incline so it takes a lot of water to get to the house plus our slab is 6 inches thick which helps quite a bit. Others were not as fortunate.

I am guessing that many of the homes pictured do not have flood insurance. Homeowners insurance does not cover flooding. It will be a painful learning lesson for some. The cost is only $350.00 a year in most areas, a national program, but some decided against it.
