Financial Handcuffs!

Do you want to search for the right place to live?

Do you want to try out different careers to see what is right for you?

Do you want to travel around the world?

Do you want to go anywhere, do anything you want?

Then don't get sucked in to the all around, ever enveloping commercialism that is part of our daily life. People on a whole always strive to get the best of something of whatever it is whether a car or home or whatever.

But there is a huge long term cost with all of that. Car loans can take 5 years, homes 30 years. Endless debt can last forever, month after month, year after year, until you die.

Ownership of stuff can be suffocating after all. Most of it, well, you are sorry that you made such a Faustian bargain in the first place.

Part of those bargains we make comes with marriage and the time and commitment involved to make it work.
That also has a financial encumbrance that may or may not be worth it.

Freedom to do whatever has a nice ring to it. Society frowns upon it though. Because society counts on the norms of debt and commitment to stay the course and make the world what it is today,

You might be looked upon as a drifter, not amounting to much in the world's eyes.  But if it makes you happy...

Be wary my friend. Be wary of those financial handcuffs.
